This Charlie Parker bebop standard has been made accessible to young jazz ensembles. The open solo section is for any player and utilizes a two-chord vamp rather than the original complex song form. A beginner can improvise on this chart!

And it's all to a hip hop groove, which has strong elements of swing. This stylistic hook, along with flexible scoring and a user friendly solo section make this chart a great way to introduce young musicians to "Bird".

Although it is scored for a full jazz ensemble, it can be performed by as little as one upper instrument (alto sax or trumpet) and one lower instrument (tenor sax, bari sax or trombone). 

Parts are included for flute, F horn, and tuba.
