Composed in 1934, This slow 18th variation from the set of 24 is by far the best known, and it is often included on classical music compilations without the rest of the work. The original key of Db is retained with a solo cello line and piano accompaniment. It featured extensively in the 1953 MGM film "The story of 3 Loves". Ideal for short recitial items or as an encore.
