Product Description

The Big Rock Candy Mountain is an all time favorite folk tune that can be dated back to the 1890s. It was recorded in 1928 by Harry McClintock and popularized in the 1930s by Woody Guthrie and again in the 1960s by Pete Seeger. Over the years, the words, originally bawdy, changed to fit the times and audiences, but always remained true to the hobo's dream of paradise.  This arrangement (without lyrics) is for an Intermediate String trio (two violins and cello). Separate sheets are provided for each instrument in addition to the score.  McIntire's arrangements of this tune for fiddle, mandolin, voice, and piano with lyrics and chords for guitar and banjo are also available at this web site.
