I. Alfred The Great - a regal fanfare
II. Sweyn Forkbeard and Cnut the Great - aggressive and highly rhythmic
III. The Celtic Fringe - invoking a folk melody, lacrimoso, moving throughout several keys
IV. England - the first three themes come together, overlapping each other
