Featuring a chord progression that is constant throughout the texture becomes gradually thicker each time through. Following a brief relaxation at measure 41, it culminates in a dramatic statement at measure 48 before a coda reminiscent of the introduction. The title was inspired by the poem Footprints in the Sand, which "acts as a metaphor for the invisible footprints that our loved ones leave on our hearts and reminds us that they live on through those who honor and remember them."
