Frank Sumares was a real force in the San Francisco Bay Area jazz scene for many years as an educator, adjudicator, mentor, and pianist. He also, literally, wrote the book on jazz piano chord voicings. This original bossa was written in his memory and is perfect for junior high and developing high school jazz bands.
