A Song of the Hills is a piano solo arrangement of the 1915 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, which was originally a ballad for voice and piano. I have taken fragments of this melody and set it in 2 part writing. The first section is Baroque in style and ornamented with mordents and has a broken triad accompaniment. The second section is Classical in style with legato lines and extended broken chords. These two sections repeat. Then the final section has an abridged variation of the Baroque theme, then climaxes with trills and flourishes in the Classical style. This piece maintains a happy feeling throughout and will put a smile on your face.
