Des Hold My Hands Tonight is a piano solo arrangement of the 1901 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond, which was originally a ballad for voice and piano. This arrangement is only loosely based on the original melody and harmony; I pretty much changed everything--tempo, rhythm, time signature, style, structure, etc. Now the piece has a child-like bounce with an infectious melody line and rhythmic jazz interludes. Overall the piece is Classical with light jazz influences; a piece which doesn't take itself too seriously, it just wants to have fun.
