Mahler #3 - VI. Langsam begins quietly with strings alone. This arrangement captures the essence of the original because the string parts are almost note for note in the opening. Some full orchestra sections are added to the strings and other sections are carefully removed. What remains is a wonderful adagio that ends quietly (the opposite of the original for large orchestra). Optional timani part is included and adds depth to the arrangement.
