A set of 3 palindromic movements for C or Bb trumpet. SOLOS - is a fanfaric, rhythmic opener exploring the fascinating shift of metre that happens naturally after the reversal of the dotted rhythms. NOON - is a slow and sustained soliloquy which is a true test of stamina and tone. RACECAR - is a ferociously fast test of tonguing and sustained rhythm spanning the full range of the trumpet. In the middle there is a slight nod to the amusing palindromic title which asks the trumpeter to ghost some notes to give the effect of a car horn. Duration c. 8-10mins.
