Product Description

Most "barcarolle" pieces are in triple time, but in this piece I tried to depict the boat drifting on the ocean at midnight deliberately using quadruple time, and performing improvisationally. The cyclically falling or rising arpeggio represents the fluctuation of the waves. At bar 24, with a delicate D note, it changes to D minor. Please play differently between the first piano, piu piano, and the piano after the crescendo. At 32 it returns to major again and sixtuplets start trying to move the music forward, but still "sempre piano," no crescendo. At bar 41 the music finally gets to the strongest part, but it's still mezzo piano. A long trill at 49 melts the intermediate part, and the recapitulation part follows at 52. Play expressively but calmly the phrase from 58 like falling stars.
