This arrangement for Viola and Piano of the increasingly popular northeast Brazilian Christmas lullaby Repousa Tranqüilo TRANQÜILIDADE also entitled Sleep Peacefully, is a beautiful folk tune has been recorded in more than one translation in recent years, sometimes with the Welsh lyric below. This transcription of the entirely public domain tune follows a common practice of moving from minor into major at the midpoint of the tune while also preserving the distinctively Brazilian harmonic quality in the opening verse and throughout.
