Nachdem Johannes Daniel Falk vier seiner zehn Kinder durch eine Typhusseuche verloren hatte, gründete er in Weimar das Rettungshaus für verwahrloste Kinder. Den dort aufgenommenen Kindern widmete er spätestens 1816, möglicherweise auch schon Ende 1815, das heute als Weihnachtslied bekannte O du fröhliche. Arrangiert für Klavieranfänger. Fingersatz, Text und Akkorde sind enthalten.
