Product Description

Composed and premiered in 1915, Rachmaninoff's "All-Night Vigil" is one of the most well-known examples of the sacred music of the Russian Orthodox Church. "Joyful Light," the fourth movement of the composition, is based on a traditional chant from Kiev and the text from the Evening Hymn of Light, which is over 1600 years old. You might imagine the candles of an old Russian cathedral being lit at dusk as you perform this work. This arrangement for brass choir includes 8 parts: 2 trumpets, 2 horns, 2 trombones, 2 tubas, and 1 euphonium part that is interchangeable with the 1st tuba part. Performance time is around 2 minutes.
