Product Description

JELLY ROLL BLUES- for Brass Quintet w/opt. Percussion. Written by Ferdinand Morton in 1915. Jelly Roll Morton first recorded this tune in 1924 as a piano solo and again in 1926 with The Red Hot Peppers. The rhythmic content varies greatly between the two versions as this was a time when Ragtime was becoming Swing. In this arrangement for Brass, the main groove is swing along with a section of what Morten called the Spanish Tinge, in this case, a tango. Intermediate level.
