Product Description

Probably the best known of Scott Joplins piano rags, The Entertainer was written in 1902. It was included on Joshua Rifkins famous 1970 revival recording of Joplins music and an orchestration featured on the soundtrack of the movie The Sting in 1973. This arrangement won an Oscar and reached No.3 on the US single charts.

This version has been arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and Alto Saxophone and includes all four sections of the original composition.

Musicians at an intermediate level and above will find this ideal for formal and informal performances. The overall performance time is around five minutes. The YouTube link is a full performance of the Alto Saxophone version of this arrangement.

Teachers will enjoy using this arrangement as a fun way to help with phrasing, syncopated rhythms and light articulation.
