A fun piece to play for beginning band, that has ample space for the players to make up their own sounds to add to the piece. The percussion players start the piece off with the tick-tock of a Grandfathers Clock and soon strange creatures of the night appear with their eerie melodies. Encourage your players to come up with their own interpretation of the music; do they hear ghosts or skeletons, are there snakes in the mist, can they see the moon in the clouds? There are many short pauses in the piece where the players can (and should) add their own sounds; crazy laughter, owls hoot, creepy footsteps and so on. You can leave out any of the sound effects written into the piece and substitute with your own, just have fun with it!
