This is an arrangement for tenor sax and piano of an art song by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, a German composer of the early Romantic era. Her brother was Felix Mendelssohn and because of social conventions at the time about the roles of women, six of her songs were published under her brother's name in his Opus 8 and 9 collections. She composed more than 250 lieder, most of the unpublished during her lifetime.
