In this
composition I had to use an original recorded sound and a playback source. I
chose to record myself, as I have done before, reading a sad poem accompanied
by the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. The Piano
Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor "Quasi
una fantasia", Op. 27, No. 2, popularly known as the Moonlight
Sonata, is a piano
sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. It was completed in 1801 and dedicated
in 1802 to his pupil, Countess Giulietta Guicciardi with whom he was in love. The sonata
expresses all the issues that did worry Beethoven. The poem is about a person
who wishes to be woken up half a year later. He prefers autumn rather than the
summer; he believes that he is alone, that life is fake, talks about lonlyness
between the crowed and avoids saying anything about love. Maybe love to a
particular person; though the poem is dedicated to many people it is as it
would speak to one particular person, which while we listen to the poem doubts
appear about his existence. Beethoven did marry Giulietta, but he was not happy
although he loved her till the end. The words narrate what people could not
understand in the music.
