Product Description
This
MP3 is a high-quality recording of the orchestral part for On the Seashore of
Endless Worlds by Colin Kirkpatrick. The work is scored for soprano solo, SATB choir and orchestra. The vocal and choral parts have
been omitted entirely from this recording. It is not of course intended to
replace the orchestra but would be useful for choir directors who want to get
an idea of the orchestral sound in advance. The MP3 could be used as a backing
track for a small group of singers assuming the audio equipment is of
sufficient standard. For this reason, in the two short a cappella
sections, a discreet metronome sound has been added to keep the singers in sync
with the recording.
The
choral score is available separately from SMP as is the full orchestral score
and instrumental parts. The orchestration is standard and requires: 2 flutes
and piccolo, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons; 4 horns in F, 3
trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, percussion (2 parts; 4 players), violin
1, violin 2, viola, cello and double bass.
