ABIDE WITH ME (Piano Track) Flute & Piano Duet
"Abide with Me" is a Christian hymn composed by Scottish Anglican Henry Francis Lyte and English composer William Henry Monk's tune entitled "Eventide". The text was written in 1847 as Lyte was dying from tuberculosis. He died three weeks later.
The text for the hymn is based on Luke 24:29 where the disciples asked Jesus to abide with them toward evening as the day is coming to an end. This hymn is a prayer asking God to stay with us throughout life, our trials, and even death. "Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." ~ Luke 24:29

May be used for preludes, offertories, special music, postludes, funerals and in general worship.
