Product Description

Most guitarists are aware that Wes Montgomery plucked the guitar with his thumb and not a guitar pick. What many are unaware of is that Wes played single note solos with only 3 fingers of his left hand. He did use his pinky for octaves and chords but only 3 fingers for single note solos like his model Charlie Christian. The tablature in this transcription favors that 3 fingered style. A guitarist could play this arrangement with 4 fingers and that would require less shifting, but the feel would be slightly different. This tune was part of a 1962 live set featured the Wynton Kelly Trio (Wynton Kelly/piano, Paul Chambers/bass and Jimmy Cobb/drums) and Johnny Griffin on saxophone.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
