Nicolas Ruiz Espadero was a Cuban pianist and composer, known mainly nowadays for editing and cataloging the music of Louis Moreau Gottschalk. He never left Cuba, indeed never really left his home in Havana, and there in 1890 he met with a rather unfortunate demise!

This arrangement is loosely based on Chant Du Guagiro (Farmers Song) Op.61. Naturally, being of Cuban origin the music is very complex rhythmically, and has an extremely memorable theme throughout!
