Product Description

What Wondrous Love Is This is played here by a string trio (two violins and cello). This American Christian hymn is taken from William Walker's Southern Harmony (1835), a shape note hymnal. The lyrics of the hymn were first published in 1811 and the melody is older with sources referring to various origins. Each of the four iterations builds on the melody. The second and third are variations in baroque style.
This arrangement is appropriate for Lent and Easter holidays, and its modal key and rhythm make it particularly appropriate for a processional or memorial .
A score and single sheets for each instrument are also available at sheetmusicplus.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
