The initial inspiration of this piece came from the second movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G, but the general character and harmonic language were primarily inspired by Scriabin. This rhapsody is written in the late Romantic style, with a clear tonality and lyricism embellished by slightly unconventional harmonic extensions and progressions.1st Prize Winner of the 2022 MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of California) Composers Today Contest.
