Product Description

Four-part trumpet ensemble fanfare. 2 minutes. This four-part trumpet fanfare was composed for NASA's Lucy Soundscape. The Lucy Soundscape is a collection of original music from participants to share their creativity with NASA and the world, all connected to each other through the "Lucy Motif." The Lucy space mission will be the first to study the Trojan asteroids orbiting Jupiter. The mission takes its name from the fossilized human ancestor (called Lucy by her discoverers) whose skeleton provided unique insight into humanity's evolution. Likewise, the Lucy mission will revolutionize our knowledge of planetary origins and the formation of the solar system. This piece uses the Lucy Motif in explicit and obvious ways, like in the opening, and more subtle, less obvious ways that the listener and performers can discover, much like the Lucy satellite itself as it discovers more about outer space.
