The work was intended as a holiday production and was supposed to depict various Parisian scenes in a sort of "Postcard from Paris"atmosphere. Tailleferre enlisted her son-in-law Jean-Luc Derudder to design the sets and wrote a score full of the sort of popular music that Tailleferre knew from her childhood: polka, quadrilles, waltzes etc. In the Finale of this work, which she called a "divertissement choréographique,", she chose the popular form of the "French Cancan. Scored for pic112bscl1/2sxA/sxT/sxB/2hrn/2Bbtpt/2tbn/tuba/timp/2perc, this item is the score and complete parts.
