Product Description
Dramatic, sacred music for SATB choir. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mark R. Fotheringham.
Text:
Though guiltless and guileless, accused, He was tried.
The truth He had spoken, thus men would deride.
With humble submission, He faced hate and anger
From lying tongues who condemned Him to die.
Before Pontius Pilate, to be judged of men,
By false accusation, He was tried again.
No fault could be found, still they painfully scourged Him.
Thirsting for blood yet, they called for His death.
No mercy was found on Golgothas dark mound.
The sound of a hammer was heard all around.
'Mid weeping of women, the innocent lifted,
Suff'ring and dying, all mankind to save.
A tomb for our Savior, with guards at the door
Who knew not His power to leave it once more.
The tomb was found empty by Mary that morning,
Filling the world with the promise of life.
