Product Description
Piano Pattern Pieces - Rote Pieces for the Primer Level
Pattern Piano Pieces, or so-called rote pieces, are pieces that may be taught to the student by demonstration,
rather than note reading.
The benefit of such pieces is that techniques may be practiced long before the student would be able
to read them. Pieces in this collection explore techniques like slurs, use of the damper pedal, harmonic
fifths and thirds and moving the hands freely accross the keyboard. They also develop memorization
skills. Often students are able to learn these pieces in a very short amount of time.
Imagine having a brand new piano student, who enrolled shortly before the studio recital, but who is eager to perform. Then a little piece taught by demonstration is often the solution. Some of the pieces in this collection can be successfully taught in the first month of lessons!
The sheet music here is meant primarily for the teacher.
There are no titles, but the pictures above the music give ideas for interpretation.
Students may give their own titles.
Dynamic marks, use of pedal, speed, titles, playing in different octaves, all details are left to the creativity
of the student.
The fifteen pieces in this collection are suitable for students during the first year, or perhaps first two years of
their piano study. They may complement any regular piano course.
