Hallelujah - Leonard Cohen
Arranged by Nat Brookes for String Quartet
Pop Pad
Undoubtedly Leonard Cohen's most popular song, first released in 1984 and since covered by hundreds of artists, it has featured in films and TV including Shrek, Watchmen, Scrubs, The OC, ER and Sing. A film titled 'Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song' focusing on his faith, his career and the song Hallelujah is due to be released July 1st 2022, which will once again bring the song to forefront of public consciousness
This arrangement is ideal for Wedding/function String Quartets reading pads and also High School String Quartets looking for a little challenge. The first violin includes some passages in third position and all three upper strings parts feature some double stopped sixths. The double stops could be simplified for less confident players, or in a larger ensemble (i.e. a high school string orchestra or chamber ensemble) could be split divisi, between instruments. My arrangement is written in 6/4 for clarity to make sight reading as easy as possible for players without rehearsal time.
Included: Score and set of parts.
Each part is two pages long to avoid page turns.
Rehearsal marks throughout.
Parts start at page 9
