This Appalachian folk hymn tune titled PLEADING SAVIOR was first published in Christians Lyre in 1830 in the Sacred Harp tradition. Arranged with a descriptive, emotive piano accompaniment that underscores the elegance and depth of the lamenting singer, the words conclude with a peaceful return to the Saviors loving arms.
