Voices In My Head is meant to convey a feeling of being overwhelmed. I got the idea for the piece after having composed for 2 hours and finding my stomach screaming from hunger, my throat screaming from thirst, my head screaming from fatigue, and my mind screaming from unsatisfied work. It was a very overwhelming feeling at once and caused me to come up with the idea for the piece and subject for the fugue. The prelude is supposed to be setting up the fugue, as it depicts multiple voices getting along but just barely. The C major section shows the initial clarity from satisfying one of their needs, but it quickly returns to a struggle. The fugue slowly and slowly gets more intense, leading up until the end when the main character becomes completely overwhelmed.
