Softly As I Leave You is a beautiful, haunting love song, first performed by Frank Sinatra and later by Elvis Presley. Written by Antonio DeVita, it originally had Italian lyrics (by Giorgio Calabrese) which were translated into English by Harold David Shaper. This arrangement is for string trio, and as with all of our string trio arrangements, the middle part is included in both treble and alto clef giving you the freedom of performing it with either two violins and cello or violin, viola and cello.
