About this String Quartet arrangement of The Forever Now
This is a arrangement for a String Quartet: two violins, viola, and cello. The key is in F which is a minor second lower than the original track.
It is a beautiful song featured in the acclaimed TV series This is us. In my arrangements I aim to try and make everything as clear as possible through formatting in such way that keeps everyone on the same page. In the parts I have formatted them so that each line in each part corresponds to the same place in the page as the other parts. This helps keep everyone literally on the same page which will make rehearsing so much easier.
Over all, it is a very gentle and quiet piece. I found wanting to give crescendos in places and then not thinking they could work as I didnt want the dynamics to get too loud but I wanted something to happen dynamically. I opted for putting them in and they can be played at your discretion.
Performance
This would be a nice addition to any repertoire for performing. I think this will definitely be one which will be popular for weddings in the future. It is a beautiful piece of music and the song I can see more and more stumbling across and it meaning so much to them. If you are a wedding musician I would definitely add this to your repertoire.
About the Arranger, Barry McCormick
I am Barry McCormick, I have an MA in music from the University of Glasgow. I am a musician, composer and arranger from Scotland. I have over 20 years experience in teaching music at a classroom and private tuition level and have taught students from early years to more mature in years. I was involved in a group using music as a means to aid mental health teaching guitar for those purposes.
