The Battle of Gettysburg includes arrangements of music popular during the Civil War. These are arranged for middle school strings and percussion with added narration and optional staging. Musically It includes dotted rhythms with hooked bowing, the key of Bb Major, slurs, ties and 6/8 time. The piece can be staged with appropriate uniforms and flags of the Union and Confederate armies.
This is a great interdisciplinary project combining history, music and theater.
