Product Description
In
the USA Nasa photo, the Earth comes into view. A beautiful, small
blue orb floating in the star-studded blackness of space. In this
piece, I describe my thoughts and emotions about the miracle of the
scene. I view The Earth, carrying life from past ages, the present,
and hopefully ages to come, providing a home for the aspirations,
dreams, hopes, the triumphs and failures, of myriad created beings,
including man. I find myself celebrating the victories of life in
what I call the "Earth Theme", first heard in the second
section. This theme differs from the quieter mysterious "space
theme" which opens the piece. A contrasting middle section,
featuring the Celesta Harp, and Glockenspiel expresses ( in my mind
at least) the dance, sparkle, and play of the Cosmic energies.
However, the end of the piece, featuring four notes struck on the
Chimes and the Strings dimming into ppp, fades into the silence and
mystery of Space.
