Product Description
Phoenix Quartet is a String Quartet in four movements, for two violins, viola, and cello. The first movement, entitled Life, is quick, spritely, and very traditional musically, and symbolizes the carefree phoenix soaring in the sky, living a life of bliss. The second movement, entitled Immolation, is much slower and very dreary, creating a feeling of nothingness to symbolize the extinguished life of a burnt-up phoenix. The third movement, entitled Rejuvenation, is faster paced and very rhythmically intricate. It is also the pizzicato movement of the work, and symbolizes the phoenix's ashes working to revive themselves. The final movement, entitled Rebirth, takes concepts from the first movement of the piece, reworking them into something entirely new for a grand finish.
