Product Description

"The Stream" parallels the journey of a few water droplets rolling downhill as they gather with one another to form a small stream and eventually pool out into a big lake. I grew up next to a stream running through my parents property, so I was always playing with the mud, fish, and tadpoles. When the professional EvNiKa Clarinet, Violin, and Piano Trio asked for original music, this water idea began to form in my head. The Stream, inspired by Virgil Thomsons piece "The River" (1937), stylistically models various American speech rhythms and folk melodies to personify a small but growing body of water. The PDF download includes the score followed by each individual part.
