Back in 2019, my composition professor of the time challenged my composition class to write contrapuntal violin duets in which each line maintained as much clarity as possible. To add an extra layer of challenge to the task, I challenged myself to try to create a fun and interesting piece incorporating as few additional techniques as possible (such as double stops, special effects, etc.), focusing almost exclusively on creating interesting, unadorned single lines in the two parts. This piece, based on the concept of old record players "skipping" between different sections of a record, was the result. Enjoy!
