Product Description
The present edition contains the original version of the variations for two pianos, initially composed under the title Paradies Lost. The original title was intended as a counterpart to Wilhelm Killmayer's work Paradies for piano three hands. In the course of the compositional process, however, the piece developed in a different direction, so that the title and reference became increasingly distant from the basic idea. The new title refers indirectly to Killmayer's preference for assigning rather abstract Italian terms to some of his works and characterizes the progression curve of the variations.
The premiere by the Viennese piano duo Harald Ossberger/ Christos Marantos, for which the work was composed, planned for a house concert at Moritz v. Bredow, is still pending.
