Product Description
Dominik Ertl was a regiment drum major with the Austrian Infantry Regiment No. 4. He also worked as an operetta conductor
in Dresden, toured Germany as a violin concertist, was conductor in Danzer's Orpheum in Vienna in 1889 and concert conductor
in Riga around 1893. Anton Bruckner is said to have been one of his teachers. Numerous compositions, piano reductions, dances,
waltzes, polkas, marches and around 200 couplets, marches and Viennese songs have been preserved from his hand.
His best-known composition is the "Hoch- und Deutschmeister-March" from 1880, which is still one of the great traditional
Austrian marches today.
