Product Description
Covid Suite, Op. 29 started as a composition exercise to implement various harmonic structures, which quickly turned into a means of conveying the moods that 2020 has brought about.
The first movement, in C major, is entitled New Year and it conveys the excitement that 2020 would bring. As the movement progresses, the tonality becomes more unstable, which symbolizes what's to come.
The second movement, in Bb major, is entitled Pandemic and it conveys the uncertainty brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic. It also represents being confined to quarantine and the longing of returning to the normal life we had before the global pandemic hit.
The third movement, in F# minor, is entitled Discord and it conveys the chaos and discontent of all the global events that have occurred. More specifically, events that have happened in the United States and the fighting and blatant hatred amongst each other that has come with it.
