Toccata in A Major, Op. 22 was composed for solo piano. This piece was intended for Three Blessings, Op. 14, which in itself was going to be a larger piece, but could not elaborate on the material at the time of writing the piece. Furthermore, I felt that it was better as its own piece. Toccata in A Major, Op. 22 revolves around a simple melody with the perpetual sixteenth-note ostinato motive, which is complicated with wider intervals and soft dynamics. The ostinato motive takes various forms but never loses motion, even gaining momentum as the tempo increases towards the end of the piece.
