The Quartet was written in 1984 in Philadelphia and was commissioned by Topaz, a new music group formed by music students from Temple University. It is written in 4 contrasting movements and is scored for flute, clarinet, bassoon and guitar. The work is available here in a newly revised 2020 edition.
