The peaceful running notes flow into an optimistic, whimsical B section before returning to the original melody, now with a twist. Upon repeating the A section, a new melody is introduced in the left hand, juxtaposing against the right hand's familiar notes. Starting in E minor, the piece flows between different keys, leaving the listener and player wanting more.

There is a loose tempo marking and, while pedal is recommended, the exact pedaling pattern is left up to interpretation. The notes are there for the pianist to make their own.
