Introduction: Zahara Mist is a Latin-style piece that can be easily used for any performance. The optional solo sections can be used to add additional depth to the piece.
Part Descriptions:
Guitar 1 (Solo): The Guitar Part 1 (Solo) Part follows Guitar 1 but also provides Latin solos in strategic locations within the piece. Note that these solos can be read using the sheet music/tablature or they can optionally be improvised. Detailed fingering as well as guitar tablature is provided.
Guitar 1: The Guitar Part 1 (for the most part) harmonizes with the Guitar Part 2 to form the primary "hook" of the song (although Guitar Part 1 and Guitar Part 2 play in unison at the very beginning of the piece.
Guitar 2: The Guitar 2 Part provides the harmony for the tunes melody.
Guitar 3 & 4: These parts provide an alternate melody and harmonize with each other.
Rhythm: This part provides both the bass line as well as the rhythm for the piece.
The "Zahara Mist" Story: I wrote Zahara Mist as a tribute to the many Latin guitarists. It started as a Rondo, but quickly emerged to include many of the standard guitar harmonies that you would find in more traditional Spanish pieces. Zahara is a small hill town in Spain about 30 minutes from Ronda. I am so excited to share the song with you and your group. Ron
