About the music
The Trek is the fourth track in my modern, contemporary classical crossover, concept album, The Hunt. The Hunt is the hunt of life, hunting for health, for life, for happiness, for love, for ideas, for creativity, for success. The Trek represents the journey, as one prepares and begins one's movement through life, its rhythms, its beauty.
From the album booklet:
"Preparations were made, vehicles packed,
weapons on the rack, as we slowly embarked
on our journey. Like the morning brain our
bodies slothfully moved forward, guided by
the huntress, towards the goal. Once we got
our rhythm, hope filled our hearts and faces
for our survival, for our success, for our lives. (3:11)."

About the Score
The Trek is music for an orchestra or for a specific group of players. The piece includes piccolo flutes, timpani, harp, vibraphone, cellos, and violins, but I can imagine it can work adapted in a number of ways by different groups or an advanced group of students.
