Product Description

El danzón is a rhythm and dance of Cuban origin created by the composer Miguel Faílde (1852-1921) from Matanzas next to the year 1879 and engendered by another Cuban genre called danza, a variation of the contradanza. «Typical Cuban dance, came to be the archetype of popular music with its characteristic rhythm.  Since the beginning of the 20th century, it has been deeply rooted in Mexico, also considered part of the popular culture of that country. In Cuba, it is played with a majority of wind instruments, with flute, violins, timpani and Cuban percussion.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard's global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
