Product Description

Carlota and the Musical Owl is a tale for narrator and string quartet specially designed for children between 5 and 14 years old. Actually it is a didactic concert to which we have added a peculiar story. In this case, the fantastic story about a girl and an owl with magical powers. The tale traces a route between Europe and Asia, showing through the different places a great diversity of styles and musical expressions.

ABOUT THE TALE: Carlota is a 12 year old girl that one day enters a magic house and it transports her to China. There she finds a strange owl who offers to take her back home, as he has magical powers. But the owl needs to hear beautiful music for its powers to work. So the two characters go looking for music through towns, fields, mountains and cities until they can return home.
The tale is avaliable in English / Spanish / Català

ABOUT THE MUSIC: The music consists of excerpts and small pieces carefully chosen for the young audience, in addition to containing a great stylistic variety as well as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Folk, Eastern Traditional and R`n´R.
The tale includes 12 tracks that you can see in the back cover for further information.
All the instruments of the quartet perform the role of soloist in order to show the audience the timbral richness of each instrument.
The approximate duration of the concert is about 30 - 40 minutes, depending, of course, on the staging of each performer.

ABOUT SHEET MUSIC: There are a whole part that includes all the material (four music parts and the tale in the three languages). There's also individual parts for each instrument and for the narrator.
