Product Description

As You Commence Philosophy is the first of the songs from Four Songs by Lucretius.
All are from his epic poem "The Nature of Things" or Rerum Natura.  In it he expresses the view of the Greek philosopher Epicurus.

Epicurus was opposed to superstition and the impact religious beliefs have on people's lives. In this song, Lucretius tells of the sacrifice of Iphigenia by her father.
